They’ll never know

I saw a couple play fighting the other day, the guy was kiddingly pinning back the girl’s arms. She, smiling, called out uncle. It was cute. But then I thought about the how terribly creepy the calling out of uncle actually is, in an incestuous-rape-fantasy kind of way. Someone is made to feel powerless physically and the only release is to call out the name of a masculine authority figure. If the calling out of “Uncle” pleases the aggressor he lets the victim go. I find this practice disturbing now. No going home again, I guess.
